Chimney Rock was founded in 1980 on the east side of Silverado Trail and played a key role in the renaissance of Napa Valley. The Terlato family acquired sole ownership of the property in 1980 and devoted themselves to producing Cabernet Sauvignon from the Stags Leap District that would rival the great estates of Bordeaux. Coincidentally, it was a glass of 1985 Sociondo Mallet that inspired Elizabeth Vianna to abandon the study of medicine and pursue a career in wine.
The winning bidder’s party of six will have a privileged, inside view of the world of Chimney Rock when they dine with Elizabeth at the winery and sample the full range of their releases. In addition, each couple will take home a mini-vertical of Elevage, Chimney Rock’s signature propriety blend. A combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot from estate-grown fruit, the wine is crafted from 37 different vineyard parcels and demonstrates the singular nature of the Stags Leap District.
